A Learning Environment

At The Leadership Challenge we believe people learn best through hands-on participation in a fun atmosphere. We use the outdoors to create realistic and challenging activities that bring the theoretical concepts of leadership and teamwork alive. In addition to a structured approach to learning leadership and teamwork, our programs provide time for business-focused dialogue, networking and relaxation. We work diligently to create an open, supportive environment in which organizations and their leaders can take risks, learn and develop the skills that support their company's vision and goals. Participants develop bonds that transcend the program, leading to more cohesive work teams.

A typical Leadership Challenge experience lasts from two to four days. Each day begins with a presentation and discussion of the skills and behaviors we are working to develop. Then, the majority of the day is spent putting the concepts into practice and receiving feedback, both from each other and the outdoor environment! We conclude each evening with a fireside discussion of important learnings from the day's activities and their application to the workplace. On the final day, individuals create personal improvement plans and intact work groups tackle real-time work problems.

Leadership Challenge programs usually are conducted in outdoor settings that are rustic, yet comfortable and free of distractions, promoting learning and team development. We have a variety of facilities to choose from in the Pacific Northwest. We also offer the flexibility to custom design programs at other locations of your choice.

All activities are designed so everyone can participate, regardless of physical ability. We work hard to create an open, supportive environment where people feel safe stepping outside their comfort zone to enhance learning and personal growth.
